Clinical Lab Scientist I - Core Lab
SUMMARY: The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) I position is accountable for performing laboratory procedures using a variety of instruments and procedures. Performs laboratory analyses on blood and various body fluids to obtain data on which a diagnosis of health or disease can be made and appropriate therapy initiated. Areas of responsibility may include one or more of the following: hematology, coagulation, immunohematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, molecular biology, histopathology, and point of care testing (POCT).Employees scheduled to work in the Blood Bank department must undergo an extensive trustworthy and reliability determination which includes fingerprinting and a criminal history check, and be found "acceptable" by the hospital's Trustworthiness & Reliability (T&R) Official.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires: A) a Bachelor's Degree consistent with State of California CLS Licensure requirements; B) a valid California CLS or Specialist License. MT(ASCP) certification preferred. A minimum of 1 year full-time clinical laboratory experience preferred.
