Clinical Lab Scientist I - Lab-Microbiology

SUMMARY: Accountable for performing laboratory procedures using a variety of instruments and procedures. Performs laboratory analyses on blood and various body fluids to obtain data on which a diagnosis of health or disease can be made and appropriate therapy initiated. Areas of responsibility may include one or more of the following: hematology, coagulation, immunohematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, molecular biology, histopathology, and point of care testing (POCT).Employees scheduled to work in the Blood Bank department must undergo an extensive trustworthy and reliability determination which includes fingerprinting and a criminal history check, and be found "acceptable" by the hospital's Trustworthiness & Reliability (T&R) Official.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree consistent with the State of California CLS Licensure requirements. Valid California CLS - Clinical Lab Scientist license required with MLS - Medical Laboratory Scientist - ASCP preferred. Minimum one year Clinical lab experience required.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time 80 hours per pay period, shift to be determined.
