Construction Assistant - Construction

SUMMARY: Working under general supervision and reporting to the Vice President of Construction, the Construction Assistant is accountable for comprehensive administrative support of construction projects. In addition to a variety of general office activities, duties include submission and management of bid documents, drafting of contract specifications and change orders, preparation of billing and invoices for payment, maintenance of job-related information and data in appropriate systems, and ensuring contractors and outside agency staff are in compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.

Incumbents in this position have daily contact with staff at all levels within the department in which they work. They may have regular and frequent contact with staff at all levels across the entire hospital either personally or on the phone.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/G.E.D. required with an Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum three (3) years clerical experience that includes data collection and compilation required. Experience in a construction setting is highly preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization as well as with external customer base. Requires strong organization and time management skills, excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills. Prior experience with enterprise resource planning software is preferred.
