Contracts Specialist - Materials Mmgt Resources

SUMMARY: Performs contract review analysis and notifies vendors of any conflict with contracted tier pricing or compliance-related issues, maintains contract data base. Educates Purchasing Specialists on accessing all applicable contracts to ensure the highest level of cost savings.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field. Minimum two (2) years Purchasing experience required. Preferred experience includes a minimum three (3) years GPO contracts, purchasing and vendor product knowledge preferably in the healthcare field.

  • Ability to work independently and professionally within the organization.
  • Must have organizational and work planning skills to manage independent projects.
  • Analytical skills necessary to develop and execute a variety of financial and operational analyzes.
  • Ability to communicate both oral and written complex technical issues in a clear concise manner to individuals in writing and to communicate ideas, conclusions, etc. orally to all levels of the organization.
  • Problem solving skills to manage day to day challenges and develop and execute long term improvement.
  • Competent in the use of Excel, MSWord and Lawson (ERP) and other database programs needed to perform job duties.
