Contracts Specialist - Materials Mmgt Resources

SUMMARY: Performs contract review analysis and notifies vendors of any conflict with contracted tier pricing or compliance-related issues, maintains contract data base. Educates Purchasing Specialists on accessing all applicable contracts to ensure the highest level of cost savings. Maintains Contract Management database for purchased services, blanket orders and standing orders and issues purchase orders consistent with contract terms and conditions.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field. Minimum two (2) years Purchasing experience required. Preferred experience includes a minimum three (3) years GPO contracts, purchasing and vendor product knowledge preferably in the healthcare field.

  • Ability to work independently and professionally within the organization.
  • Must have organizational and work planning skills to manage independent projects.
  • Analytical skills necessary to develop and execute a variety of financial and operational analyzes.
  • Ability to communicate both oral and written complex technical issues in a clear concise manner to individuals in writing and to communicate ideas, conclusions, etc. orally to all levels of the organization.
  • Problem solving skills to manage day to day challenges and develop and execute long term improvement.
  • Competent in the use of Excel, MSWord and Lawson (ERP) and other database programs needed to perform job duties.
