Instrument Coordinator - Sterile Processing

JOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable for coordinating the instrumentation ordering and repairs for the Periop department as well as for the house and outreach facilities. The role includes the assessing, planning, ordering, negotiating, coordinating, and facilitating of all instrumentation that includes capital, specialty, trauma, and consignment instrumentation with financial accountabilities. This individual will be accountable for ensuring professional development, as well as coordinating the research, evaluation, and in-servicing staff on instrumentation, patient care equipment if indicated, as well as new products. Accountable for the instrument administration portion of the instrument tracking system. This individual will serve as a role model in Sterile Processing standards and regulations for staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/G.E.D. required, College Degree - 2 year preferred. CIS - Certified Instrument Spec required, CRCST - Cert Reg Central Serv Tech Or CBSPDT - Cert Board for SP & Dist Tech required. Minimum five (5) years Progressively responsible experience, which includes specialty instrumentation, devices, and equipment. Preference will be given to those candidates who have demonstrated a mastery of the job content through success in this role.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time 80 hours per pay period day shift position. Overtime may be required to meet department needs. Weekends may be required as needed.
