Network Engineer - IT Support & Tech Svcs

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the installation, maintenance, administration, troubleshooting and analysis of the Valley Children's Healthcare System data and voice communications network; Serve as departmental expert and resource on network protocols and services including but not limited to TCP/IP, BGP, IPX/SPX, DNS, DHCP and SMTP. This position is responsible for administering file services, print services, backup systems, storage systems, recovery systems, data protection systems and other management systems; Serve as a lead technical resource for the evaluation of emerging network technologies and will contribute to the development of Networking Services management reporting systems. Leads or assists the development of integrated project plans and other required project documentation. Includes identifying and mitigating risks, controlling project budget, scope and time line, leading the project team and communicating with the Executive Sponsor, IT PMO and other key stakeholders. Provides support and/or technical coordination of project processes and documentation. Participates in all phases of major projects; planning, preparing, maintaining and tracking project plans. Provides regular and accurate progress updates and status reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: College Degree - 4 year associated with electrical, electronics, communications systems or computing hardware/software systems Or three (3) years equivalent work experience required. MCSE - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert and CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate preferred. Direct experience in support of LAN and WAN technologies including Ethernet, network operating systems, and routing using current generation vendor offers; Ability to utilize standard PC productivity software (Microsoft Office) and specialty software (drawing, CAD, database and terminal software in the performance of duties) required. Experience with the Linux operating systems preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
