Supervisor Pharmacy - Pharmacy

JOB SUMMARY: This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager, and is accountable for daily operations and coordinating activities of the pharmacy staff to insure compliance with state, federal, regulatory and governing bodies in the preparation and provision of pharmaceuticals at Valley Children's Hospital Pharmacy. This position provides supervisory expertise, leadership and support in the planning, organization and day to day operations including: medication ordering, receiving, provider order verification, protocol management, proper medication preparation, final product verification, dispensing and distribution. Responsible for maintaining up to date records including policies, procedures, SOPs, as well as employee training and competency documents. The Supervisor is responsible for annual focal reviews of assigned staff and is an active participant in performance management and the hiring process. All other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Completion of ASHP Accredited Residency Program required. Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D) required. Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS, BCPPS, etc.) preferred. RPH - Reg Pharmacist California State Board of Pharmacy required. BLS - Basic Life Support required. For existing personnel, BLS is to be acquired before 9/30/18 required. For new personnel, BLS certification is to be completed within the first 90 days of employment or within 90 days of hire or transfer into position required. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support encouraged for those serving the PICU, Emergency Department and overnight shifts. Minimum three (3) years related experience required. Minimum one (1) year management experience preferred.
