Adaptive Sports Program Coord - Physiatry - Part Time
About Us:
The award-winning Neurology team at Valley Children’s Hospital provides diagnostic services, medical treatment, and follow-up care to infants, children, and adolescents who have suspected or confirmed neurological disorders. Our board-certified neurologists and epileptologists manage and treat a variety of patients, including those with seizures, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders and other neurologic conditions.
NAEC Level 4 Epilepsy Center Badge - Valley Children's Hospital is also accredited by the NAEC as a level 4 epilepsy center. Level 4 epilepsy centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide high-level, comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.
Our neurology team specializes in a variety of conditions from seizures and epilepsy, to neuromuscular and movement disorders. Our teams are experts in advanced diagnostic procedures and utilize both the latest technology as well as innovative programs to provide the best treatment plan for each patient.
Job Summary:
Valley Children's Adaptive Sports Program is the only initiative of its kind in Central California, offering free recreational andathletic opportunities for children and young adults (up to age 21) with physical disabilities or mobility impairments. This role is
instrumental in ensuring the continued success of Adaptive Sports through strategic logistics management, partnership
development, and effective communication
Qualifications:
Education
- College Degree - 2 year (required) Or
- Equivalent Experience (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum two (2) years (required)
- Minimum of (2) years volunteering with Adaptive Sports Program and/or previous experience in sports programming or event coordination, preferably in an adaptive setting (preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate clearly and manage conflicts. Experienced in leading teams and making decisions that improve the program and support the athletes.Strong business acumen.Experience in managing profit and loss.Strong strategic, analytical, critical thinking and decision skills.Communication and negotiation skills.Conflict management. Ability to build and motivate high performing, cross-functional teams to deliver critical, visible results.
- Proven ability to identify and execute innovative solutions to complex business challenges.Ability to assess and take calculated risks as appropriate to the business environment, with achieving strong bottom line results.
