Ambulatory Care Technician - Guild Child Abuse Prevention/Treament - Part-time/Days

The Guilds Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center is dedicated to providing both physical and emotional services for children suspected of being abused or neglected.
Through a multidisciplinary, child-friendly program, the Guilds Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center ensures every child receives a comprehensive, head-to-toe medical evaluation to assess potential injuries related to abuse and the child’s overall health. The Center includes the Child Advocacy Clinic, which operates five days a week and sees more than 1,000 children each year. The team is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day for emergency coverage.
The mission of the Guilds Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center is to provide comprehensive services to children and their families through a multidisciplinary, child-friendly environment that meets the physical and emotional needs of children suspected of being victims of abuse or neglect.
Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Care Technician (ACT) is an unlicensed multi-skilled employee who partners with providers and clinic staff to provide ongoing support services to maximize efficiency while ensuring optimal patient/family experience. Welcomes/rooms patient and family in a timely efficient manner and collects patient information and vital signs specific to the practice setting (medical history, medication usage, etc). Effectively utilizes Valley Children's systems, software and modules effectively to perform job-related functions. Documents all pertinent information in a precise, clear manner. Functions as a patient care team member assisting licensed staff in the performance and provision of safe, service-oriented and efficient patient care.Care provided by the ACT is supervised by a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
- Program Graduation from a patient care program (i.e. MA, CNA, EMT) (required) Or
- Program One semester of an RN or LVN program (required) Or
- Equivalent Experience Two years in a similar role in lieu of patient care program or nursing program requirement (required)
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum six (6) months Providing direct patient care (preferred)
- Minimum one (1) year Assisting in a medical office or hospital (preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Bilingual Skills Preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner.Medical terminology skills preferred.
