Job Description

The Ambulatory Care Technician (ACT) is an unlicensed multi-skilled employee who partners with providers and clinic staff to provide ongoing support services to maximize efficiency while ensuring optimal patient/family experience. Welcomes/rooms patient and family in a timely efficient manner and collects patient information and vital signs specific to the practice setting (medical history, medication usage, etc). Effectively utilizes Valley Children's systems, software and modules effectively to perform job-related functions. Documents all pertinent information in a precise, clear manner. Functions as a patient care team member assisting licensed staff in the performance and provision of safe, service-oriented and efficient patient care. Care provided by the ACT is supervised by a Registered Nurse.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduation from a patient care program (i.e. MA, CNA, EMT) or two semesters of a nursing program, or two years in a similar role in lieu of patient care program or nursing program requirement required
  • Minimum six (6) months providing direct patient care preferred
  • Minimum on (1) year assisting in a medical office or hospital preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner
  • Medical terminology skills and bilingual skills preferred

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • BLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
