Assistant Cook - Dietary - FT/Days

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for preparing food items for the café and for preparation for the following day. May be assigned to work as a line cook in the cafeteria, assisting cooks with café meal preparation, or preparation of other café/catering items as needed.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D with Culinary Classes or Culinary Certificate preferred. Minimum six (6) months previous cook experience in acute healthcare facility OR a minimum six (6) months previous cook in large volume food service operation required. Serve Safe Certification and Culinary Certificate preferred. Must have excellent reading, written and verbal communication skills. Must have basic math skills required for cooking. Must be a team player and be flexible in working assignments. Ability to prepare quality food and service in quantity, with different cooking methods. Knowledge and use of cooking equipment and knowledge of food safety. Must have basic computer skills.

POSITION DETAILS: Full-time, 72 hours per pay period. Day shifts
