Cardiac Sonographer Per Diem - Echocardiology

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for performing a variety of more complex echocardiographic procedures with expertise, using ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic quality echocardiographic studies under a variety of conditions. Performs EKG's, holter and multi-event monitor applications as requested. Assists the Cardiologist as required. Works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor.Participates in the rotation of on-call duties and Outreach Clinic involvement with other Cardiac Sonographers as assigned. Increasingly acts as a resource to the Department.


  • Minimum one (1) year pediatric echocardiography
  • Increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job
  • Bilingual skills preferred


  • College Degree - 2 year in Accredited Echocardiography/Ultrasonography OR completion of an accredited Echocardiography/Ultrasonography Technical/Vocational training program AND high school diploma/GED.
  • If individual has neither accredited program nor 2 year degree, high school diploma and equivalent experience sufficient to allow for successful completion of either ARDMS or CCI certification required below
  • College Degree - 4 year Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography preferred
  • BLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
  • Cardiovascular Credtialing International (CCI) OR American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS) certification required
  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) preferred

POSITION DETAILS: Per diem as needed

PAY RANGE: $50.30-$89.70
