Charge Nurse - St. Agnes

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for managing the overall operations of a defined patient care unit during an assigned shift. The incumbent is accountable for monitoring, evaluation, and directing patient care provided by staff, coordinating activities of the patient care unit, making staff assignments and assisting with the development and evaluation of staff members. The incumbent will assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff, evaluating staff competency and evaluating, coaching, and counseling assigned staff in concert with the Manager/Supervisor. This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Nursing as well as a valid CA RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required with six (6) months of hire or transfer into position. Minimum two (2) years full time nursing experience with pediatric/neonatal experience preferred. Demonstrated abilities in the areas of critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution, leadership including delegation, collaboration, feedback, effective communication and customer focused service behaviors. Bilingual skills are preferred.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time position, 69 hours per pay period, Night Shift.
