About Us:
The Guilds Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center is dedicated to providing both physical and emotional services for children suspected of being abused or neglected.
Through a multidisciplinary, child-friendly program, the Guilds Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center ensures every child receives a comprehensive, head-to-toe medical evaluation to assess potential injuries related to abuse and the child’s overall health. The Center includes the Child Advocacy Clinic, which operates five days a week and sees more than 1,000 children each year. The team is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day for emergency coverage.
The mission of the Guilds Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Center is to provide comprehensive services to children and their families through a multidisciplinary, child-friendly environment that meets the physical and emotional needs of children suspected of being victims of abuse or neglect.
Job Summary:
The position is an unlicensed multi-skilled worker who supports patient care by performing specific clerical, nursing tasks and support functions as delegated and supervised by a licensed provider (Physician or Registered Nurse). Performs check-in/check-out functions at point of service areas. Works with high risk populations. Schedules follow up appointments for patients during the visit as needed, and/or schedules pre and post visit appointments as directed by clinical staff. Accountable for the accurate and timely usage of multiple office systems, which may include computerized appointment scheduling, patient registration, and data/charge/order entry. Responsible for a variety of general secretarial duties and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains open communication inter/intra-departmentally while supporting the hospital goals, policies, and procedures. Provides outreach and coordination of resources.Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
- Program Graduate of a patient care program (i.e. MA, CNA, EMT) (required) Or
- Program Two semesters of a Nursing proram (required)
- College Degree - 4 year (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum two (2) years Clerical and/or healthcare experience (required)
- Minimum one (1) year Assisting in a medical office or hospital (preferred)
- Experience providing direct patient care; Secretarial/clerical training (preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills as well as the ability to problem solve effectively and handle multiple priorities.
- Computer Skills Required
- Bilingual Skills Preferred. And
