Clinical Respiratory Specialist - Respiratory Care Services
The Clinical Respiratory Specialist functions in a role of an expert clinician, educator, leader, consultant and researcher. In collaboration with the healthcare team, the CRS monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care and outcomes. With in depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience in a respiratory practice, the CRS sphere of influence includes the care of the patient/family, practice of respiratory therapy and providing solutions for complex systems and processes. Serves as a role model, patient advocate, charge agent, and leader to enhance patient care. This position practices within the scope of California Respiratory Care Practice Act and in accordance with Valley Children's policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum four (4) years experience in critical care required
- Extensive advanced knowledge of neonatal/pediatric cardiopulmonary principles, supportive technology, and systems
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- College degree – 4 year in health related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
- Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) required
- Advanced Practice Respiratory Therapist (APRT) preferred
