Cook I - PT/Days

JOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable for preparing food items for the cafeteria, patient meal service, and special functions meal service. Checks and stores leftover food items and follows standardized recipes. Completes any pre-preparation of hot food items for the following day's meal service.

REQUIREMENTS: The position requires High School Diploma or GED. College Degree - 2 year in Culinary Preferred. Minimum six (6) months previous cook experience in an acute healthcare facility required or Minimum six (6) months previous prep cook in large volume food service required. Must be able to read, write legibly, understand, and follow oral and written English instruction. Ability to prepare and serve in quantity following standardized recipes using different cooking processes and methods. Knowledge of materials used in large-scale food production. Knowledge of the use and care of equipment and utensils. Knowledge of food safety principles. Knowledge of basic math skills used in cooking. Must have good teamwork skills and if working in Patient Services as a cook must understand modified diets.

POSITION DETAILS: Part-time, 40 hours per pay period. Day shift
