Job Description

As a Data Architect, your role will involve designing and overseeing the data infrastructure at Valley Children's. Your responsibilities will include assessing the current architecture, offering guidance to data governance and leadership on direction, processes, and technology, and spearheading the planning, design, and implementation of enhancements to the data architecture.

You will maintain a strong understanding of the various data systems, sources, tools, people, and processes throughout the organization and leverage this knowledge to balance high-level, long-term strategy and goals with short-term, immediate data priorities.

You will work closely with data engineers, Information Security & Infrastructure to ensure that data at all stages of our data architecture is secure, documented, governed, and curated to meet the data quality needs of our customers. You will make data security a priority and focus throughout all aspects of our data architecture. You must communicate effectively with non-technical users such as end-users, subject matter experts, and leaders as well as with technical users. You will work collaboratively with multiple groups within the organization, including all levels of leadership to assist with data-related technical issues and support data architecture needs. Assists in the implementation, analysis and testing, maintenance and upgrades, application design, and troubleshooting of data solutions and related projects. Must be a proactive problem-solver, demonstrating proven business and collaborative skills. Your technical skills will require working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, data analytics/visualization tools like Power BI, data warehousing design, Fabric, Epic Caboodle and Clarity.

Experience and Education

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum six (6) years Information Technology related work experience required.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • College degree - 4 year in a related field required.
  • Epic Certification required within four months of hire or transfer into position.
  • Certificates of experience in the following: SQL, SSRS, Power BI, RDBMS, Relational Data Modeling, Python, ML, cloud-based data preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate preferred.
