Diag Medical Sonographer I - Ultrasonography - Full-time/Varied

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of standard and some specialty pediatric and diagnostic sonographic procedures with little or no supervision, accurately, producing quality studies under a variety of conditions. Assists in the identification and resolution of work process issues within the department. Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice. Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in Environment of Care.

Qualifications:


Education

  • High School Diploma (required) And
  • Program Graduate of a formal program in Ultrasonography that meets the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) qualifications or trained through a Radiologic Technology Program. (required) Or
  • Associates Degree Medical Sonography (or related field) i.e. successful completion in: ARRT Sonography Board in addition to ARDMS Certification in SPI. (required)
  • Bachelors Degree (preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • RDMS-AB - ARDMS Abdomen - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers ARDMS certification in at least one (1) specialty (required) Or
  • RDMS – Breast (BR) - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required) Or
  • RDMS – Musculoskeletal (MSKS) - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required) Or
  • RDMS-OBGYN - ARDMS Obstetrics & Gynecology - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required) Or
  • RDMS-PS - ARDMS Pediatric Sonography - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required) Or
  • RVT-VT - Vascular Technology - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required)


Work Experience

  • Minimum six (6) months Diagnostic Medical Sonography (includes clinical rotation during formal training). (required)
  • Pediatric experience (preferred)


Skills and Abilities

  • Bilingual Skills Preferred

Additional Shift Information

  • Variable with Holiday/Weekend obligation - Mostly 1200-2030
