About Us:
Join the Valley Children’s Audiology team and have a personal impact on the lives of the children in central California. As part of the premier pediatric hospital in the valley, you will assess, treat, and manage the hearing needs of our diverse patient population. You will provide much-needed diagnostic audiology services to newborn children through young adults, including ABR and behavioral testing, dispensing amplification devices of all types, and counseling patients and families to support their preferred communication strategies.   

Our audiologists coordinate care with other hospital disciplines and community services from school districts to social work, oncology to the operating room, craniofacial clinic to cochlear implants. You will play a valuable role in the implementation of developmentally and culturally appropriate education to meet the learning needs of our population. This position is designed to be both professionally satisfying and vital to the well-being of the children we serve.  

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with auditory disorders/hearing impairments and dispensing hearing aids. Completes diagnostic assessment to rule out or define hearing impairment. Completes hearing aid and assistive device selection and dispensation. Develops, implements, and evaluates developmentally/culturally appropriate education to meet the learning needs of the patient/family.

Qualifications:


Education
  • Masters Degree In Audiology (required)
  • Doctorate In Audiology (preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • AU - Audiologist License - SLP/AUD - Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispensers Board (required)
  • CAHAD - CA Hearing Aid Dispenser - SLP/AUD - Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispensers Board (required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • ASHA - American Speech Language Assn (preferred)

Work Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years Pediatric experience, or five years of related experience. (preferred)

Skills and Abilities
  • Bilingual Skills Preferred.
