Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer, this position oversees and assures Valley Children's Healthcare's compliance with governmental and industry regulatory requirements. Oversees the compliance programs for Valley Children's Hospital, Valley Children's Medical Group, and Valley Children's Healthcare Foundation and provides leadership for the Valley Children's Healthcare's Corporate Compliance Department.This position assists in developing compliance risk management strategies in conjunction with the Chief Risk Officer. In addition, the position advises and counsels hospital administration, medical staff leadership, and the Board of Trustees, through its Corporate Compliance and Audit Committee, and the general workforce on ongoing compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the incumbent assists with ensuring that the policies, procedures, programs and contracts of the organization and its affiliates are in compliance with laws and regulations.
The Valley Children's Healthcare Executive Director Corporate Compliance Officer:
•Reports to Legal Services for day-to-day operations.
•Also reports indirectly to the Chief Executive Officer of Valley Children's Healthcare, the President and Chief Administrative Officer of Valley Children's Hospital and the President of Valley Children's Medical Group
•Meets quarterly with the Corporate Compliance and Audit Committee, of the Valley Children's Healthcare Board of Trustees.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors Degree In Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Nursing,Health Care Administration, or related field (required) Or
- Masters Degree Law (required)
Licenses and Certifications
- CHC - Certified in Healthcare Compliance - HCCA - Health Care Compliance Association within 18 months of hire or transfer into position (preferred)
Work Experience
- Minimum five (5) years Demonstrated leadership experience (required)
- Minimum five (5) years Legal and/or compliance experience in a healthcare system (preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Proven ability to work and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Experience in health care law, auditing, quality assurance, issues of fraud abuse and issues related to Medicaid reimbursement.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid billing/coding rules and guidelines
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding and HCPCS/CPT procedure coding systems.
