Health Unit Coordinator - Recovery Room - Part-time/Evenings

Madera, California, 93636

About Us:
The Perioperative Department (Periop) at Valley Children’s Healthcare (VCH) is a robust division, incorporating many procedural areas and their associated support services. Periop supports every service line within a healthcare system providing care to patients within the Central Valley and its surrounding areas, collaborating with outlying facilities to accomplish the mission of the organization to provide the best care to our patients, always.

Phase I recovery begins immediately following the end of the surgical procedure. In most instances, the patient comes to the department still asleep, fully medicated and sometimes still intubated. The team oversees the patient's immediate recovery phase. The unit is busy and often loud when our babies and children are awakening. It is a fast-paced environment with an objective of safely caring for and moving the awake patient to their next phase of care.

The Periop department as a whole, employs a vast number of skilled individuals within various units, including registered nurses (RNs), operating room technicians (ORTs), special procedure technicians, sterile processing technicians, imaging technicians, and more. Each division works to provide their team with advancement opportunities that encourage self-development, offer process improvements, and ultimately work to improve outcomes for our patients.
