Manager Health Information Mgmt - Health Information Management

SUMMARY: This position provides leadership and support in the planning, organization, supervision and coordination of the operations of Health Information Management (HIM). Supervises all staff responsible for the following HIM functions: release of information and patient portal support, medical record analysis, physician record completion, electronic record maintenance, record retrieval, retention and storage including document imaging, off-site storage and archival of all medical records, dictation/transcription and various organizational registries including but not limited to Virtual PICU (VPS), California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC), Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4), Trauma Registry, Joint Commission Core Measures for Asthma (CAC), and Newborn Screening. Responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity of protected health information. Communicates and participates in quality improvement initiatives within the department and across the Healthcare network as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: College Degree - 4 year Related field or College Degree - 2 year required. RHIA - Reg Health Information Admin or RHIT - Reg Health Information Tech required. Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible experience in related field required. Minimum three (3) years Management experience preferred. This role also requires strong leadership, relationship building and interpersonal skills while working effectively with a variety of groups and interests across organizational levels.
