Job Description
The Pediatric Care Technician (PCT)/Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is an unlicensed multi skilled worker who supports both patient care and non patient care activities for the patient. Responsibilities include performing specific nursing tasks and support functions as delegated by a licensed provider while supervised by a Registered Nurse, providing clerical support to the unit staff and physicians, coordinating referrals, and managing the patient medical records.

EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from a patient care program (i.e. MA, CNA, EMT), or two semesters of a Nursing Program, or two years in a similar role in lieu of a patient care program or nursing requirement
- Minimum six (6) months providing direct patient care preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely manner
- Medical terminology and Bilingual skills preferred
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma as accredited by the US Department of Education or GED required
- BLS - Basic Life Support is required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
- CHUC - Cert Health Unit Coord preferred
