Performs nursing activities that have been documented as learned in the nursing program; may assist with medication administration upon completion of the pediatric theory and clinical course work, and successful completion of the Valley Children's medication examination.

The pediatric inpatient float pool, also known as Central Staffing, is equipped with a resource of float employees comprised of staff who are equipped to float each unit. This allows the float pool team the ability to work where needed within the hospital. Valley Children’s float pool staff are flexible to care for a variety of pediatric medical conditions in the five acute care units, the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units and Emergency.

EXPERIENCE:
- Prior work or volunteer experience is preferred
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Current enrollment with completion of at least two semesters/or equivalent in an accredited RN Program
- Enrollment throughout employment in an approved Work Study Course through an affiliated school (Fresno City College, CSU Fresno, West Hills, COS, SJVC, Merced, CSU Stanislaus)
- HeartCode Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
- Advancement to PNE II is based on completion of the pediatric theory and clinical course work, and successful completion of the Valley Children's medication examination
- Must be able to complete the full, weeklong new hire/clinical orientation the week of 12/1/2025, 12/15/2025 or 1/12/2026.
