Physical Therapist II - Per Diem
About Us:
Valley Children’s physical therapists focus on providing patient and family-centered care. They specialize in working with children who have impaired mobility and functional limitations due to injury, disease, or disability. Our physical therapists' goal is to optimize the child’s level of independence by restoring movement, mobility, and function. They work with the patient and caregivers to design individualized treatment plans and provide the child’s family with innovative ideas on how to support their therapy goals at home.
Valley Children’s physical therapy program offers expert care for a diverse pediatric population of varying ages and diagnoses. The success of therapy is heightened by our therapists who have specialized training in pediatrics and are committed to serving infants, children, and older adolescents.
Physical therapy is offered in a variety of settings at Valley Children's Hospital, including:
Outpatient therapy · Inpatient rehabilitation
Acute care · Critical care (NICU and PICU)
Multidisciplinary clinics
Rehabilitation Follow-up
Rheumatology
Hematology
MDA/Neuromuscular Disease
Cystic Fibrosis
Hypertonicity/Spasticity
Job Summary:
This position is accountable for the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with physical, motor, and sensory impairments affecting functional mobility and active participation in daily living. Instructs and supervises PT Assistants and Aides in treatments delegated and follows through with required documentation. Involved in the orientation, training, and oversight of student interns and new employees. Participates in a variety of professional growth activities intended to develop and improve patient care delivery and departmental performance.Qualifications:
Education
- College Degree - 4 year in Physical Therapy (required)
- Doctorate (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- PT - Physical Therapist License - PTBC - Physical Therapy Board of California (required)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum two (2) years (required)
