Plant Engineer - Full Time

Job Summary:
This position works under the supervision of the Plant Services Manager. Maintains hospital central plant equipment including electrical distribution system, standby emergency generators and related equipment, the domestic water system, wastewater system, storm water system, steam system and components, HVAC systems including chiller system, hot water reheat system, lighting, medical gases, and the pneumatic tube system, building management system. This position ensures the reliability of the facilities Life Safety components including the fire alarm system, automatic extinguishing systems, perform fire drills, egress lighting, smoke stop compartment systems, and are first responders in the event of a fire, spill response. This position maintains the kitchen equipment, sterilizers, surgical tables, surgical lights and booms, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, and parking lot/exterior lighting. Must be familiar with various agencies codes as they apply to hospitals. Will be asked to perform shift work as well as weekend work as needed to support the department.Qualifications:
Education
- College Degree - 2 year In related discipline (required) Or
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required) And
- Equivalent Experience Related experience (required)
- Program Trade schooling (required)
Work Experience
- Experience with related skills such as refrigeration and air conditioning, electrical systems, motor controls, boiler/steam systems, and DDC/pneumatic control systems. (required)
- Minimum three (3) years Building maintenance industry experience. (required)
