Overview:
Valley Children's Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Education Consultant – Respiratory Care to support the development and excellence of our clinical staff. Under the direction of the Director and in collaboration with department leadership, this role serves as a consultant in patient care and is instrumental in fostering a continuous learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and promote ongoing clinical staff development
• Lead the review and enhancement of respiratory clinical practices, procedures, equipment, and processes
• Assess learner needs and define educational outcomes
• Plan, implement, and evaluate competency-based education programs
• Support improved clinical operations and patient care outcomes
• Ensure practice aligns with the California Respiratory Care Act and Valley Children's Healthcare policies

Qualifications:
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in California
• Proven experience in clinical education or staff development
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate across departments and drive continuous improvement

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five (5) years experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required
  • Strong organizational/project management skills and excellent communication and leadership abilities to guide respiratory aides and collaborate with other departments.
  • Knowledge of SPD procedures, IFU, and infection control standards.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • College Degree – 4 year in a health related field required
  • Master's Degree – preferred
  • BLS – Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
  • RCP - California Respiratory Care Practitioner license required
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist license required
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support  required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
  • NRP - National Resuscitation Program required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
  • NPS - Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
