Registered Nurse - Certified Diabetic Educator - Full Time

The Certified Diabetic Educator is a nurse who functions in the role of expert clinician, educator, and consultant. This position is accountable to independently manage the complex needs of the diabetic patient, deliver patient care at an expert level, demonstrate leadership skills, and serve as a resource and consultant in the area of diabetic education and management. This position practices under the direction of the designated Nurse Executive, within the scope of the California Nursing Practices Act, and in accordance with the policies of Valley Children's Healthcare.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1 year related experience required, additional years’ experience preferred
• Bilingual skills desirable

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIFICATIONS:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
• Bachelor’s in Nursing strongly preferred
• Active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN) required
• Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) required
• HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
