Registered Nurse Data Integrity Specialist - Clinical Documentation/Coding
Job Description
Reviews open and closed medical records and identifies and abstracts specific data from within the records using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, lab values, disease process, or pattern of injury as appropriate. Enters collected data primarily in VPS (Virtual PICU Systems) and the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4) database systems. Utilizes additional internal and external administrative and clinical statistical reporting and databases where appropriate. Serves as a clinical resource to various departments within the hospital when called upon to interpret data, methods, or regulatory requirements. Serves as an internal clinical resource to other members of the Data Specialist team when called upon to interpret or collaborate on clinical data and unknown diagnoses.

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum two (2) years preferably in the critical care service line required.
- Ability to function independently and possess strong critical thinking, organization, and decision making skills.
- Customer focus and ability to build and maintain highly effective relationships across the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma as accredited by the US Department of Education or GED required.
- College Degree - 2 year in Nursing required.
- RN - Reg Nurse required.
ADDITIONAL SHIFT INFORMATION:
- Position works a 10-hour alternative work schedule (overtime after 10-hours per day)
