Job Description

Provides oversight and responsibility in the planning, development, and implementation of continuous quality improvement projects tailored to the unique needs of pediatric rehabilitation patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Primary responsibility for programmatic leadership ensuring regulatory compliance with CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) standards, delivering the highest quality of care and services. Coordinates education/training and ongoing support for clinical staff, ensuring knowledge of CARF standards and delivering high quality care and optimal outcomes. Establishes and maintains programmatic integrity of data collection, analysis, interpretation, and it's use in clinical decision-making. Develop and foster relationships with community partners, local agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance programmatic services while maintaining high standards of customer service.

The Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation unit specializes in long-term rehabilitation care and is one of only two California pediatric CARF-accredited facilities. We cater to a wide range of conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, multiple traumas, trach/vent patients, spinal cord injuries, stroke, orthopedic conditions, Guillan-Barre, and other neurologic disorders. Additionally, we offer specialized care for medical patients admitted to the hospital, leveraging our team’s exceptional expertise in an interdisciplinary setting. Our large playroom features two TVs for family entertainment and wall of cabinets filled with toys for patients. We also have a spacious kitchen area equipped with 2 ovens and an industrial-sized fridge and /freezer for families to use during their extended stay, ensuring their child is fully prepared for a smooth transition back home. Our commitment to patient success is evident in our focus on providing specialized education to empower patients to care for themselves before they return home. To ensure we maintain high standards, we utilize a national database to track patient outcomes, with Valley Children’s Rehab patients showing some of the best results in the country, particularly in achieving greater independence after our care.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three (3) years progressively responsible experience required
  • Minimum five (5) years experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving and projects requiring attention to detail and specific timelines
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospital and health care organizational operations acquired through experience that includes exposure to a variety of levels of leadership
  • Strong leadership and organization skills required
  • Proactively identifies and addresses challenges with minimal oversight
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of software applications such as electronic healthcare record, Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Power Point.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • College Degree - 4 year in Healthcare or related field required
