RN - Apollo - FT/Days

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) isaccountable for providing competent nursing care. Responsible for coordinationof the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, andevaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. Thisposition practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive,within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with ValleyChildren's Hospital policies.

Starship Apollo provides care for infants and children withacute and chronic respiratory diagnoses such as asthma, cystic fibrosis,bronchitis and respiratory syncytial virus. This 36-bed unit has 34 rooms withcentral monitors, to closely monitor patients with increased needs forrespiratory support and intervention. Nursing and respiratory carepractitioners collaborate in the care of patients on Apollo.

POSITIONREQUIREMENTS: A) a graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSNstrongly preferred; B) an active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C)Life Support Certifications (see specifics below); and D) experience tocorrelate with Clinical Ladder level. Bilingual skills desirable.

Life Support Certifications Required: 1) Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS)within 30 days; 2) Focused Pediatric Resuscitation (FPR) within 12 months.

POSITION DETAILS: Full Time, 69 Hours per pay period
