RN - Apollo - FT/Nights

Apollo is a 35-bed, acute care respiratory unit. General duty nursing care is provided to the acutely ill pediatric patient on Apollo. Patient population served includes those acute care pediatric patients with respiratory diagnosis. Certain patients requiring ventilator support may also be served on Apollo. Patient Care Services are provided utilizing the LEGACY care delivery model of care. The RN delivers and coordinates care in a collaborative manner with unlicensed staff, as well as other disciplines.

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing competent nursing care. Responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.


A) Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN strongly preferred;

B) an active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN);

C) Life Support Certifications (see specifics below);

D) experience to correlate with Clinical Ladder level; Bilingual skills desirable.

Life Support Certifications Required:1) Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days; 2) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 12 months: Cardiac Cath Lab, and Endoscopy. Within 18 months: Recovery Room/PACU and Sedation;3) Focused Pediatric Resuscitation (FPR) within 12 months.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time, 69 hours per pay period, Night shift
