RN II - Cardiac Cath Lab/Medical Imaging Perianesthesia - Part Time

JOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable for providing competent nursing care in the area of Medical Imaging Perianesthesia and is expected to deliver competent patient care to a full patient assignment. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's polices.

About the Lab
The Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, more commonly known as the Cath Lab, at The Willson Heart Center offers all currently available pediatric diagnostic and interventional procedures for infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart disease. Our specialists offer improved care using the latest techniques, including advanced endovascular therapeutics, enabling our pediatric specialists to close a hole in a child’s heart through a 1/8-inch skin puncture.

The Cath Lab features fully digital and completely computerized equipment, making it one of the most technologically advanced laboratories in the United States. Digital images are maintained and archived all on-line for immediate multi-user, simultaneous viewing at The Willson Heart Center’s cardiology and surgery offices.

REQUIREMENTS: A) a graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN strongly preferred; B) an active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C) Life Support Certifications (see specifics below); D) One year of nursing experience preferred or experience to correlate with Clinical Ladder. Bilingual skills desirable.

Life Support Certifications Required: 1) Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days; 2) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 12 months of hire or transfer into position and 3) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months of hire or transfer into position.

JOB DETAILS: Part time, 4 x 11.5-hour shifts per 2-week pay period. Weeknight, weekend and holiday call required and shared among staff.
