RN II - Hematology Clinic

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable forproviding competent nursing care. Responsible for coordination of the patient'splan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation ofnursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This positionpractices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within thescope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children'sHospital policies.

As one of the leadingpediatric cancer facilities on the west coast, our center serves as the onlyprovider of pediatric oncology services between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. ValleyChildren’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center has consistently been in the top5-8 percent worldwide in patient enrollments to the Children’s Oncology Group(COG), the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to childhood andadolescent cancer research. As an active member of COG and a participant ofmany industry-sponsored clinical trials, we offer our patients access to 90open protocols to treat the most common to some of the rarest pediatric cancerconditions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: A)a graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN strongly preferred; B) anactive California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C) experience to correlate with Clinical Ladder level; D) Life Support Certifications (see specifics below); and E) Bilingual skills desirable.

Life Support Certifications Required: 1) Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS)within 30 days; 2) Focused Pediatric Resuscitation (FPR) within 12 months.
