RN II - Infectious Disease Clinic - PT/Days

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) isaccountable for providing competent nursing care. Responsible for coordinationof the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, andevaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. Thisposition practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive,within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with ValleyChildren's Hospital policies.

The Infectious Disease Practice at Valley Children’s providesinpatient and outpatient evaluation and management of children with suspectedor proven infectious diseases. Our physicians are all board certified inPediatric Infectious Diseases. Our team works closely with the other medicalservices at Valley Children's Hospital, as infectious disease management can becritical in treating patients’ other medical conditions.

The RN will alsoprovide coverage in Rheumatology caring for childrenwith rheumatic and inflammatory diseases. Our physicians are skilled in diagnosis, treatment, long term monitoringof therapeutic effectiveness and coordination of care. The RN will help administer and teach patientsbiologic injectable medications and assist in joint aspiration in office.

Our team offers a multidisciplinaryapproach to patient care and collaborates closely with multiple practices, including Nephrology, Orthopedic Surgery,and Physical and Occupational Therapy.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A) a graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN strongly preferred; B) an active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C) Life Support Certifications (see specifics below); and D) experience to correlate with Clinical Ladder level. Bilingual skills desirable.

Life Support Certifications Required: 1) Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days; 2) Focused Pediatric Resuscitation (FPR) within 12 months.

POSITION DETAILS: Position is in the outpatient clinic working Monday through Friday, closed on weekends and holidays, part time, 48 hours per pay period.
