RN II - Plastic Surgery Clinic - FT/Days

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing competent nursing care. Responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

AtValley Children’s, our pediatric plastic surgery department treats physicaldisfigurement for neonates, infants, adolescents and young adults. Our surgeonsspecialize in the correction and management of both congenital anomalies andtraumatic conditions, including hand abnormalities, cleft lip and palatedisorders, craniofacial and vascular anomalies. Each year, the departmentperforms almost 1,400 plastic surgery procedures and sees more than 10,000outpatient visits.

Emphasison patient comfort and care is reflected in our outstanding patient and familysatisfaction scores. In a recent survey, Valley Children’s plastic surgeryoutpatient department scored 93 percent on overall patient and familysatisfaction.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A) agraduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN strongly preferred; B) anactive California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C) Life SupportCertifications (see specifics below); and D) Experience to correlate with the clinical ladder. Bilingual skills desirable.

Life Support Certifications Required: 1) Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS)within 30 days; 2) Focused Pediatric Resuscitation (FPR) within 12 months.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time (80 hours per pay period), Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, closed on weekends and holidays.
