RN - Trauma Program Quality Coordinator - Full Time/Days

SUMMARY: This position assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital's overall approach to quality and patient safety within the Trauma Program. This position is accountable for: 1) supporting the organization's performance improvement process; 2) providing stewardship for the medical staff, nursing and other clinical professional peer review processes; and 3) identifying performance trends, as well as prioritizing and recommending improvements. The Quality Coordinator will also investigate specific areas of concern as identified by leadership.

This position, in collaboration with Trauma Program leadership, provides consultation and assistance to medical, administrative, and other staff on peer review, performance improvement and other quality of care issues; translates data into actionable information; and participates with the customer experience process for monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and services provided to patients and families. This position will play a role in the identification of trends, formulating conclusions, and making recommendations for improvement.

Valley Children’s Hospital is designated as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, the only Pediatric Trauma Center in Central California. Valley Children's is the leader in providing pediatric-specific treatment for injured children, enhancing the regional trauma system.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires: A) Bachelor's Degree in a related field, Master’s Degree preferred, B) Active CA Registered Nurse Licensure required; C) minimum 5 years’ experience in critical care, Emergency and/or trauma department, D) Minimum 4 recent experience or knowledge of healthcare regulations including TJC, Title XXII and other regulatory standards, E) Preferred certifications as follows: BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer into position, Certified Professional in Healthcare (CPHQ), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

POSITION DETAILS: Full time, exempt, 80 hours per pay period, day shift
