Simulation Specialist
About Us:
Valley Children's Interprofessional Education Simulation Program is the first Simulation Program in the Central Valley to be accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Founded in 2015, the program includes all members of our pediatric healthcare team, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, respiratory care practitioners and others. Its structure was developed by an Interprofessional Steering Committee of leaders in administration, medical and nursing education, and information technology.
The program incorporates Healthcare Simulation Standards and Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice.
Program leaders have presented at national and international conferences sponsored by the California Simulation Alliance, INACSL, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Extracorporeal Life Support Organization Annual Conference and The International Pediatric Simulation Society.
Job Summary:
The Simulation Specialist provides operational support to the Interprofessional Simulation Program. The Simulation Specialist collaborates with various stakeholders, faculty and staff to perform activities related to the scheduling, implementation, and maintenance of the simulation program.Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma required
- College Degree - 4 year in related field preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association (required)
- CHSOS - Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist - SSH - Society for Simulation in Healthcare within 36 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum one (1) year Related experience (required)
Skills and Abilities
- Experience with simulation technology such as Laerdal and Gaumard preferred.
Experience in academic medicine, research, health sciences environment or higher education setting preferred. - Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
