Supervisor Operations Support - Security

JOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the day to day operations of the departments(s), staff, providing supportive services within the department(s), maintaining compliance with all Security and CHCC policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures. The incumbent will maintain a reasonably safe and secure environment for all employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and vendors on CHCC property by being prepared for emergency situations and responding to those situations properly. This position oversees the effective operation of video surveillance equipment to aid in the protection of CHCC property and assets and to detect the existence of safety hazards. Must have the ability to provide staff direction, schedule staff, and meet core staffing needs. The incumbent will communicate with the department manager on a daily basis and serve as designee in their absence. This position is responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems with visitors and CHCC staff. Responsibilities include the hiring, orientation, training, and performance management of the support staff and efficient delivery of services. Participates in the appraisal process. As a member of the departments' leadership team, provides input on the budget development and oversight of the monthly expenses. Performs other duties as assigned by the Security Operations Manager.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires: A) a High School Diploma/GED. Associates Degree preferred; B) a minimum of 5 years related security experience with at least 2 years supervisory or increased responsibility experience. Hospital experience preferred; C) experience with surveillance equipment and familiarity with PC operations; D) the availability to work any assigned shift; E) a valid BSIS issued Guard Card or current P.O.S.T. Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced Certificate. For candidates with a P.O.S.T certificate, a BSIS Guard Card must be obtained within 90 days of hire; F) an Expandable Baton Permit within 90 days of hire; G) a valid BLS certification within 30 days of hire; H) a valid California Driver's License (CDL) with clean DMV record.

POSITION DETAILS: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period. Varied shifts. Holiday and weekend coverage pending operational needs/scheduling

The Supervisor position is a working supervisor, meaning he/she works into posts needed to meet operational demands and core staffing needs.
