Underpayment Analyst

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for analyzing and implementing operational changes to improve collections and prevent or minimize future payer underpayments and denials. Accountable to compile data from multiple systems for various meetings with payers and internal departments to improve insurance collections. Serves to provide consult and education to all of Revenue Cycle to assist in improving payer collections. Assists the hospital in maintaining high standards of revenue integrity through the providing of appropriate claim information and receiving appropriate payments for services.

Qualifications:

Education

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)

Work Experience

• Minimum two (2) years Experience in either obtaining medical insurance/government authorization or medical insurance/government billing (required)
• Registration experience in physician practice, clinic/hospital care setting (preferred)
