Unit Aide - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - Full-time/Varied
This position is accountable for maintaining equipment and supplies and performing cleaning tasks to maintain a productive and clean environment. Assists with maintaining stock inventory levels, charge capture and reconciliation process, and work order submissions related to the environment of care.

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Valley Children’s Hospital is a highly specialized and crucial component of a larger healthcare facility. With 42 beds, it is designed to provide care for patients with high acuity needs. As part of a level 2 trauma center, our PICU is well-equipped to handle a wide range of medical and traumatic emergencies. The patient population of our PICU is diverse, reflecting the complex nature of cases we manage. Approximately 30% of patients are cardiac patients, requiring specialized care for repair of congenital heart defects. Another 30% of patients fall under the category of neuroscience, necessitating expertise in treating neurological disorders and injuries. The remaining 40% of patients are acutely ill with a wide variety of disorders. Our excellent outcomes indicate that the PICU at Valley Children’s is skilled in providing quality care for the sickest of the sick. This unit is perfect for individuals who are interested in exploring avenues to engage in critical thinking and who can work in a high intensity unit as a member of a successful team of nurses, providers, and support staff, making a difference in children’s lives.

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum six (6) months previous hospital experience preferred
- Bilingual skills desirable
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma as accredited by the US Department of Education or GED required
