Wound & Ostomy Intern - Registered Nurse - Part Time/Days

SUMMARY: The intern position is a nurse who is in training to provide clinical leadership and function in the role of expert clinician, educator, and consultant. Under the direction of the Wound & Ostomy Specialist/RN, manages the needs of the patients with complex needs related to skin, wound and ostomy care, deliver patient care at an expert level, demonstrate leadership skills and serve as a resource. Provides education to the patient/family and members of the health care team. In collaboration with the Wound & Ostomy Specialist/RN, monitors quality outcomes and enhances care practice through evidence based policies and procedures, research, and implementation of new techniques, equipment, products and processes for safe, cost-effective, quality care for the prevention of skin breakdown, and provision of care for the patient with skin, wound and ostomy needs.This position practices within the scope of the California Nursing Practices Act and in accordance with healthcare organizations policies and under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.

Experience and Education Requirements


  • Minimum 2 years current clinical nursing experience required
  • Must have extensive, advanced knowledge of nursing principles and clinical practice


  • Bachelor’s in nursing required
  • Active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
  • Must be willing to work towards obtaining a Wound & Ostomy nursing certification

POSITION DETAILS: Part time, 3 x 8-hour shifts per 2-week pay period

PAY RANGE: $36.00 - $62.20
